Fiona Bateman, BVSc, MANZCVS, DACVD, completed her residency in Veterinary Dermatology in Brisbane, Australia and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2014. She established a dermatology referral practice in Melbourne, Australia before heading to the USA where she was an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Georgia. Dr. Bateman has published many peer-reviewed articles and has lectured extensively both in the US and internationally. Her special areas of interest include treatments for environmental allergies in dogs, otitis externa, and collagen disorders in dogs.

Jose Biascoechea, DVM, DABVP, earned his BS and DVM from Kansas State University. He is board-certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Avian Practice. He is a Category II USDA-APHIS accredited veterinarian. He founded Exotic Vet Care in 2000 and has been practicing exclusively exotic animal medicine and surgery since. He is the staff veterinarian for The Center for Birds of Prey and provides consulting and relief services for the South Carolina Aquarium and The Turtle Survival Center. He lectures frequently at local, state and national conferences.

Amanda R. Calla, VMD, is a Technical Services veterinarian focusing on anesthesia and anesthetic induction agents at Jurox Animal Health. She received her bachelor’s in Systems Science Engineering from Washington University of St. Louis and her veterinary medical doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. 

Dana Connell, DVM, MPH, DACVIM (oncology), received her DVM and MPH from the University of Florida. Following a small animal surgery and medicine internship at Auburn University, Dr. Connell began a three-year oncology residency at the University of Illinois. During this residency, she received specialty training in the diagnosis and treatment of canine and feline cancers. She is now looking forward to integrating into the Upstate Vet oncology team. Her clinical interests include hematopoietic malignancies such as lymphoma, bone cancers such as osteosarcoma, and client communication. 

Cynthia Bauer Darby, DVM, MS, DACVD, is with Southeast Veterinary Dermatology & Ear Clinic, in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Dr. Darby attended Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated with honors and received her DVM in 2005. After completing a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida, she was accepted into a four-year dermatology residency and master’s program at the University of Georgia. She completed her residency in July 2010, also earning a Master of Science specializing in Veterinary Dermatopathology. She is board-certified in veterinary dermatology and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. 

William Draper, DVM, DACVIM (neurology) earned his BS in Biological Sciences from North Carolina State University and his DVM from Ross University.  He was an associate in a Small Animal General Practice in Illinois for a time before matriculating to Texas A&M University for his Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship.  He then completed a Neurology Specialty Internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego.  Dr. Draper completed his residency in Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of Florida in 2012.  He joined the veterinary staff at the VCA Animal Specialty Center of South Carolina in August of 2012. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Neurology sub-specialty.  He has completed the requirements for his Neurosurgery Certificate of Training and is permitted to perform the Cervical Disk Arthroplasty (CDA) surgical correction for Cervical Spondylomyelopathy (Wobbler Syndrome).  

Jerry Alan Greene, DVM, received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. He was the Medical Director at VCA Little Animal Hospital in New Port Richey, Florida. Dr. Greene has also served as an expert witness for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Currently, he operates a private consulting company providing expert witnesses.

Jennifer Halleran, DVM, PhD, DACVIM (Large Animal), is originally from New Jersey. She pursued her undergraduate degree in Animal Science and Microbiology at the University of Rhode Island. From there, she obtained her DVM from Colorado State University. After veterinary school, she pursued a Ruminant Health Internship at North Carolina State University, followed by a Large Animal Internal Medicine residency program at Oklahoma State University, with an emphasis on Food Animal Medicine. Her clinical and research interests include infectious disease, antimicrobial resistance, neonatology and camelid medicine. 

R. Reid Hanson, DVM, DACVECC, DACVS (large animal), earned the DVM at the University of Georgia in 1983. He completed an equine medicine and surgery internship at Cornell University in 1984, and his residency in equine surgery at the University of Florida in 1987. He achieved board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1990 and the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2003. He joined the surgical faculty at Auburn University in 1992 and is currently a Professor of Equine Surgery and Lameness. He is the author of over 180 scientific articles, abstracts, presentations, and book chapters related to equine surgery, lameness, and critical care. 

Quincey Hawley, DVM, graduated from NC State’s College of Veterinary medicine in 2013 and worked for Banfield Pet Hospital in Fayetteville, NC for five years. At the beginning of 2018, Dr. Hawley resigned from his career as a practicing veterinarian and is now pursuing his life mission, which is to provide wellness solutions for the veterinary community. Combining his entrepreneurial desire with his desire to be a motivational speaker and life coach, Dr. Hawley created Dream Life Motivation, a professional speaking and personal and professional life coaching business, which encourages the pursuit of health, wealth, full potential, and authentic happiness. The slogan for Dream Life Motivation is “Empowering Dreams. Demanding Action. Creating Success.”

Rebecca Kennerly, DVM was born in Columbia and raised in Alabama. She received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Auburn University in 2017 where she graduated valedictorian. She then completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the university of Georgia, and she stayed at UGA to complete a three year cardiology residency. Dr. Kennerly's interests include degenerative mitral valve disease, emergency management of congestive heart failure, pre-anesthetic evaluation of the cardiology patient, and peacemaker implantation. She enjoys cooking, bird watching, and spending time with her family in Columbia. Dr. Kennerly is obsessed with her dog, a greyhound named Cavic. 

Tim Loonam, DVM, is a former multi-DVM, mixed-animal practice owner and currently, the Director of University Relations for the Encore Vet Group. While still the practicing at Grace Animal Hospital in Lexington, SC, Dr. Loonam speaks at veterinary colleges and veterinary meetings around the country on a variety of practice management, veterinary leadership, and clinical topics. He earned his DVM from the University of Georgia where he received senior clinical awards, and then spent several years as a U.S. Army Veterinary Corps Officer including a tour of duty in Iraq where he received the Bronze Star Medal. After leaving the Army in 2005, Dr. Loonam opened Grace Animal Hospital as a start-up business where they now have 8 DVM's, a staff of 40+ employees, and more than 15,000 clients. 

Renee Machel is co-founder of Get Motiveted, a well-being-solutions focused community for veterinarians. Ms. Machel is also a Professional Life Coach and Yoga instructor. She has authored numerous articles for veterinary publications and hosts a podcast focusing on well-being. Prior to launching Get Motiveted, Machel worked at several veterinary clinics in Michigan and North Carolina as both a veterinary assistant and practice manager.

Elizabeth A. Martinez, DVM, DACVAA, completed her undergraduate degree and attended veterinary medical school at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. Subsequently, Dr. Martinez completed an internship and residency in Veterinary Anesthesia at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. She joined the faculty of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX in 1990 both practicing and teaching anesthesiology for 28 years until joining the Jurox Technical Services Team in 2018

Stephanie Munyon, DVM, obtained her BS in Animal Science at University of Illinois-Champaign-Urbana and her DVM at Iowa State University. While there she was involved in the leadership of the ZEW, Avian, and Herpetology clubs and member of numerous others. After graduation she did a rotating small animal internship at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in Massachusetts then an avian and exotic animal internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists. She practiced small and exotic animal medicine at a private practice in Houston, TX for 2 years prior to joining Exotic Vet Care. She has worked with exotic animals in many settings including university, zoological institutions, wildlife rehabilitation facilities, private practice, and at home. She is a Category II USDA-APHIS accredited veterinarian. 

Katherine Queck, DVM, FAVD, opened The Carolinas Animal Hospital and Dental Clinic in 1993. A graduate of Iowa State University, she has performed advanced dental procedures on pets since 1986. In 1993, she became a Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry of which there are less than 100 members worldwide 

Rudy Rivas, DVM, DACVR, is a staff radiologist at CVETS. Dr. Rivas was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and grew up in Barinas, a town in the southwestern part of the country. Growing up on a farm, he always knew he wanted to be a veterinarian. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia, majoring in Biology and Psychology. Afterwards, he attended the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, Dr. Rivas completed a one-year small animal rotating internship at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and then matched for a Diagnostic Imaging Residency at North Carolina State University. Dr. Rivas is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology.

Mike Schlicksup, DVM, DACVR, received his doctorate of veterinary medicine from Ross University in 2007. Following graduation he completed a one year small animal internship and three year surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon completion of the residency program Dr. Schlicksup became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He remained on staff at the University of Pennsylvania helping train students, interns and surgical residents. His interests include wound therapy, minimally invasive surgery and fracture repair. Dr. Schlicksup's research was recently recognized at the American College of Veterinary Surgeons symposium in 2011 and he has published numerous journal articles and lectured nationally. Dr. Schlicksup recently moved to Charleston with his wife Tracy, who is also a veterinarian, and their new daughter Madelyn to be closer to his extended family. His pets include a dog named Taylor and two cats, Max and Kitt. He enjoys spending his free time on the water, sailing and fishing. Dr. Schlicksup's goal is to make every decision for his patients as if they were his own pet, providing the highest level of care for your family member.

Tracy Schlicksup, DVM, DABVP, received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Ross University in 2007. Following graduation, she completed a six-month small animal internship at North Carolina State University. For the next 6 years she worked as an emergency doctor at a 25-doctor specialty hospital in Philadelphia, PA. During this time, she received rigorous additional training in emergency medicine and surgery. . She has experience in creation and implementation of technician training programs and educational rounds. She also currently assists in human resources focusing on staff interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and career development. Dr. Tracy Schlicksup is the director of Emergency and Client Services and co-owner of CVETS.

Sarah Scott, DVM, is the owner of Scott Mobile Veterinary Services, LLC, a mobile mixed animal veterinary service. She grew up on a small hobby farm in Gaston, SC and went to Clemson University for her Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Sciences with a Pre-Veterinary emphasis in 2013.  She then attended Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Besides being on call to attend to animals for most of their veterinary care needs, in their respective locations, as a mixed animal relief veterinarian, she fills in at a few clinics around the midlands when other doctors need to be out for various reasons. 

Tami Shearer, MS, DVM, CCRP, CVPP, CVA, CHPV, CTPEP is internationally renowned for her work in animal hospice and palliative care. She is one of the leading veterinarians in the world who helped develop and specializes in hospice, palliative care and pain management. Located in Sylva, North Carolina, her award-winning veterinary practice serves dogs and cats from across the southeastern United States.  Dr. Tami’s clinic – formerly named Shearer Pet Health Hospital, has an updated name -Smoky Mountain Integrative Veterinary Clinic.  

Tracy Sheffield, BS, LVT, CVPM is a Managing Partner at T & L Veterinary Business Consulting in Wimberley, Texas . The company offers real world solutions for the business issues encountered in veterinary medicine. Tracy studied at Oregon State University. 

Ron Southerland, DVM graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1986 and was in private practice for 15 years. He has been with USDA APHIS Veterinary Services formerly as a Field Veterinary Medical Officer in Northeast Ohio, and currently as the Area Epidemiology Officer in South Carolina for the past three years. Dr. Southerland is also a Veterinary Corps Officer in the US Army Reserve for over 17 years and has deployed three times, the most recent being in 2020 – 2021.

Hannah Visser, DVM, DACVO, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the College of Charleston. During her time in Charleston she spent time with veterinary specialists and developed a passion for comparative ophthalmology. She then went on to earn her DVM from the University of Georgia where she completed several ophthalmic research projects. After graduating, Dr. Visser completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center in Fishers, Indiana. Afterward, she stayed in Fishers to complete a small animal ophthalmic internship. Dr. Visser joined the Eye Care for Animals Residency program in 2016. 

Mandy Wallace, DVM, MS, DACVS-SA, is Assistant Professor of Small Animal Medicine & Surgery at University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She received her DVM from Mississippi State and completed her residency in small animal surgery at the University of Florida.
